The UV reactors dedicated to public pools are equipped with lamps, medium pressure, multi-wave. The performance of these last generation lamps is achieved by:

  • A high emission in the UV range (between 200 and 400 nm)
  • Very high intensity UV
  • Very high effectiveness in eradicating microorganisms

The DNA of microorganisms absorbs UV light. The Von Sonntag absorption curve (1986) presents two maximums, i.e. at 200 nm and at 260-265 m.

The microorganisms try to repair the damage caused by the UV rays. Photo-reactivation is the process of reconstruction made under light. It may also take place in the absence of light. This capacity of the microorganisms varies according to the damage inflicted and their biological structure.

The medium pressure, multi-wave lamps inflict irreparable damage and they allow blocking this reactivation (Zimmer & Oguma 2001-2002). Furthermore, they are particularly effective for the eradication of a very wide spectrum of resistant microorganisms (E. coli, Pseudomonas, Legionella).

The design of the reactors allows very rapid installation. The loss of charge is very low, compared to UV reactors.

The MP lamps are placed perpendicularly to the flow to be treated. Our Slim Line and Cross Flow Line can be installed in horizontal or vertical position as required.

The Cross Flow Line may be equipped with cleaning system without mechanical parts.
